Description
Together, Tsavo East and Tsavo West form one of the world’s largest protected wilderness areas. Tsavo East is known for open plains, the Galana River, and dust-red elephant herds, while Tsavo West offers dramatic volcanic scenery, springs, and varied wildlife habitats.
Across the wider conservation area, game drives may reveal elephants, lions, leopards, buffaloes, giraffes, antelopes, and a rich variety of birds.
Itinerary
Day 1: Nairobi to Tsavo
Depart your Nairobi hotel or agreed pickup point at approximately 6:00 am and travel southeast along the Nairobi–Mombasa highway. Enter the Tsavo ecosystem and begin your first game drive en route to the lodge or camp. Check in for lunch and time to relax, then return to the park for an afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight at the lodge or camp.
Day 2: Full Day in Tsavo
Start with an early-morning game drive when wildlife is most active, then return for breakfast. Relax at the lodge or take an additional game drive as arranged. After lunch, explore again in the late afternoon, looking for elephants, big cats, giraffes, buffaloes, and plains game. Return before sunset for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Tsavo to Nairobi
Enjoy a final early-morning game drive followed by breakfast. Check out at approximately 10:00 am and begin the return journey to Nairobi, with drop-off at your agreed location.
