Discover three contrasting Rift Valley lakes in one compact journey. Lake Nakuru is known for rhinos, Rothschild’s giraffes, buffaloes, and more than 400 recorded bird species. Lake Elementaita attracts flamingos and other waterbirds, while Lake Naivasha offers scenic shores, hippos, and abundant birdlife.
This itinerary combines a classic game drive with a relaxed lakeside experience and optional boating on Lake Naivasha.
Itinerary
Day 1: Nairobi to Lake Nakuru and Lake Elementaita
Depart Nairobi at approximately 8:00 am with a stop at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint. Continue to Lake Nakuru National Park for a game drive and picnic lunch at a designated viewpoint. Spend the afternoon searching for rhinos, giraffes, buffaloes, lions, and birdlife before driving to Lake Elementaita for check-in and overnight.
Day 2: Lake Elementaita, Lake Naivasha and Nairobi
Begin with an early lakeside walk at Elementaita and time to observe the waterbirds. After breakfast, continue to Lake Naivasha. An optional boat ride can be arranged to look for hippos and birds. Depart for Nairobi in the afternoon, arriving at approximately 6:00 pm.
